Faro is a cultural research and projects studio based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was founded in 2026 by researchers Fabricia Ramos and Flavia Leone, and stems from the partners' collaborative work on projects for museums, institutions, collections, galleries and production companies, bringing together over a decade of combined experience bridging academia and the market.
The studio develops research, publications, exhibitions, audiovisual productions and institutional projects within the cultural sector. The work runs across three areas that usually operate together within a single project.
We design and implement research methodologies — surveying, systematising and analysing documents, iconography, content and data, both qualitative and quantitative — delivering outputs that guide institutional decisions and underpin the creation of content.
We conceive and coordinate strategies for creating, revitalising and strengthening cultural institutions and initiatives, bringing together teams, partners and diverse audiences, alongside the legal and financial groundwork a project needs to become viable, including funding through Brazil's cultural incentive laws.
We develop editorial, audiovisual and exhibition projects through creative direction, curation, scriptwriting and content production, drawing research, strategy and imagination together to build narratives that are consistent, accessible and relevant.
